Amores Perros 2000
Relentless grungy filmmaking. The first chapter especially felt like Inarritu was channeling whatever the hell possessed Wong Kar-wai when he made Fallen Angels. Absolutely couldn’t look away.
The next few chapters lacked the kinetic cinematography that locked me into this thing, but they were good nonetheless. There’s just so much to process here. I feel overwhelmed but in a fun rollercoaster type of way ya know?
This also reinforced my belief that Bardo is criminally underrated.

Well this is gonna be a weird review to write....
Full disclosure, this movie is based on my dad.
He’s one of the guys that’s been playing tag for 30 years. Because of this I was able to go to the world premiere tonight, which was insane (I met Eric Andre and nearly cried). Suffice it to say, I never thought my dad playing tag would lead to something this big.
