Nothing hits better than when a film finally clicks with you. If I was loaded, I’d be funding absolutely anything Zahler wanted to make. I think he’s such a talented and singular voice in filmmaking, novels and comics that it’s a crime that it’s been over half a decade since his last feature. Also, the best Gibson has ever been. Taken me three attempts but I’m now in the love territory for Dragged Across Concrete

Such a great concept but doesn’t take full advantage of its potential. Really entertaining dual performance from Cooper (wouldn’t be my first choice as an Iraqi mind you) and very slickly produced but needed much more character depth. I think about how much more interesting the film would be if Latif is intoxicated by the Uday lifestyle over time to the point that their characters became indistinguishable from one another but instead there’s no real arc for either of them…

It’s just fucking cool and so much fun. Has some trite dialogue, stupid decisions and cartoonish characters but I appreciated how it took itself serious enough that thankfully helped it avoid falling into self-parody unlike many others that try what Overlord does. A proper throwback b-movie and something I would’ve adored as a 14 year old

Grinning from ear to ear for every single minute of this film and I’ll give it a bit of time to fully decide, but this may be my favourite Tarantino as well, although I tend to say that after watching most of his films. Confirms Pitt as one of the best movie stars of all time and Cliff Booth as one of the greatest Tarantino characters (along with his dog Brandy). Makes you fucking hate hippies as well
