Chris’s review published on Letterboxd:
Considering all the drama that went on during the production this film really feels like two projects from separate filmmakers stitched together.
I enjoyed it for what it was but at times it can be bit of a mess.
Alden Ehrenreich takes a bit of time to find his groove but when he does he's fine as a younger Han, Emilia Clarke continues to be a bland actress and doesn't really add a lot to the film, Woody Harrelson is Woody Harrelson in space and Donald Glover looks fucking dope as Lando.
The kessel run is thrilling and was well worth the wait, seeing Han and Chewie become friends was a joy to watch.
By no means is it the worst film in the Star Wars franchise but it does have it's problems, I'm still optimistic about future standalone SW films to come.
