This movie was an absolute rollercoaster. And quick note: I’m ONLY giving this movie a 4/5 for Brendan Fraser’s performance which 100% deserved the Oscar win. He was…mesmerizing. If he wasn’t as good as he was I would not have given this a 4/5.

Another quick note: For people saying the movie is too melodramatic, just know that this movie is actually extremely realistic in its portrayal of depression, familial drama, and the abuse of food as a coping mechanism.…

One of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. This thing is beautiful.
Slow, contemplative, with so much depth. Revanche is subtle but expresses so much in its two hour runtime. Highly recommend.

Had high hopes for this one as it seemed like a dark drama, which is one of my favorite genres. But unfortunately while it is “dark” and it is a drama, it’s not near as dark as I was expecting.

Yes, I shouldn’t judge a film on what I wanted it to be and rather on what it was but even for what it was it took much too long to get there.

I think it took over half the runtime…

Meh, if I were to recommend you a good boxing movie I’d recommend Rocky; if you wanted a decent boxing movie I’d  recommend maybe Southpaw or Raging Bull; and if you wanted an average boxing movie I’d tell you to watch Creed.

It hits every beat you would expect and does so in an unneeded 2 hour runtime. These boxing movies feel generic and look generic and unfortunately most are pretty generic. This needed someother element to it. So where Southpaw for example was…

I, along with many others, have praised Pixar for their ability to make children's movies that don’t feel strictly like children's movies. Adults can usually always take something away from them.
However, as the years drag on, they’ve gotten lazy. They’ve traded good and meaningful stories for loud, abrasive, and much weaker plotted movies.

Turning Red is the worst offender. This is a heaping pile of crap. I at first thought the Red Panda was an analogy for a period.…

Man I really hate that I didn’t like this more but frankly I’m a bit disappointed.
My main disappointment comes from the use of goofy live action in a bad ass stop motion film. It just wasn’t needed and looked bad compared to the animation.

I also wish the plot had been a little more obvious; I think it had something to do with the creation of the earth and humankind or some shit but I dunno.

    The first third…
