Lion ★★★★

So I actually can connect with this film quite a bit as I was adopted from a country halfway around the world and have never met my parents nor even known much about them.

This portrayal is a little bit dramatic I would say though the exact situation is definitely different than mine was. I didn’t get “lost” per se (as far as I know) and I was younger than this kid was.

But the feelings of finding your parents and the feelings towards the adoptive parents ring true. I won’t say too much more on my situation than that. I can say this is a pretty realistic portrayal though definitely a bit watered down and played for tears more than anything else.

I do wish this had been a little more in-depth or procedural in the finding of the parents but overall this had some good performances and it’s a smooth watch. Can’t complain much.
