What happened to 90 minute movies?
“Could have been a better short film”
-Idiot reviewer Dadam
If was fine, full of plot holes and nonsense but this is forgiven as it’s got the charm and fun of 90s cinema and doesn’t take itself too serious and have to shoehorn excessive character work or villain backstory like action movies these days. Short and sweet goes a long way.
Don Johnson is charming as always.
Mickey Rourke is effortlessly cool and it’s before he botched his face up with plastic surgery.
Tom Sizemore is a one note cartoon…
Good enough acting but an overindulgent and bloated story with poor chemistry between the characters.
The story is simple but it takes too long to get to the point and it’s really not told that well. The director doesn’t use the 2 hr+ Run time to full effect and the plot gets bogged down in trying to make you feel Bradley Cooper is crazy, we get it he’s got serious issues but maybe develop some other characters at the same…
Slowburn but unforgettable.
The pace is Not necessarily a bad thing but I could see a lot of people not really getting into the way it’s slowly and disjointedly told. Probably could’ve shaved 10 mins off to tighten it up but then you lose indy cinematography cred I guess.
Sticking with it rewards you with an incredibly emotional payoff and something that will stay with you after the credits roll.
It’s an Interesting look at how kids perceive their parents…
