After finishing the first two seasons of Twin Peaks, it felt completely mandatory to watch its next installment because what the hell did I just watch? The show itself can be a little inconsistent and went into unnecessary subplots during the halfway point of season two; however, I’m glad I stuck through it because the last few episodes were pretty great. What the Coen brothers managed to accomplish with the character writing in this is incredible. It’s basically one of the most genuine performances staged in one of the most bizarre and oddly-specific narratives.

Peak cinema is when the Safdie brothers directed Adam Sandler to look at a rock and say “Holy shit I’m gonna cum.”

Even at thirty or so years later, Studio Ghibli’s animation is still more vibrant and lustrous than most family movies today — passion and ingenuity are keywords to this. It’s also thanks to Miyazaki, who has an undeniably rare and crazy depth for creativity. I just can’t wait to discover more of his other works.

The movie has no beginning or end, yet nothing feels like a waste of time. It’s wholesome, it’s engaging, and it grants you a sense of joy and hope. It truly knows how to warm you up.
