A wicked, sumptuous delight. Three amazing performances, prominent music, a great script... and Horatio, the fastest duck in the city!!!!! 🦆
Bananas, in the best way. Artistic, inventive, and with an insane amount of world-building. The choices are bold (Eddie Redmayne has devoured everything in sight) and don't always work (Mila Kunis is bland as heck), but it's certainly A VISION with great ideas and grand aspirations. It's really a shame we'll never get another one, because I think there's a lot to love and great places these characters could be taken.
Very charming, funny, and relatable for anyone wrestling with fitting the pieces of their life together in ways that feel truthful: your own authenticity of who you want to be; fondness for your past, without losing yourself in nostalgia; and finding honesty because of or in spite of other's perceptions of you.
A great cast, and a familiar indie-film feel -- fits like a cozy sweater.
Really, really lovely. Gorgeous animation: style and skill. One of the best scores of the year AND fantastic jazz, throughout. Hopeful and inspiring, even in its melancholy. Directing, acting... Just great, across the board.
I don’t think this is top-shelf Pixar, but I understand why everyone likes it. And truly I want to re-watch it.
