The Social Network ★★★★★

I don’t know if anything will ever be as striking to me as the images of Mark sitting alone in the empty offices of Facebook, a place of vibrant architecture still doused in desolation, bathed in industrial neon lighting and lathered in Reznor and Ross’ haunting yet sorrowful electronic symphonies; all looming over the forcefully blank face of a man who has fulfilled his hopes and dreams but still feels empty. The man who connected everyone, but who in the end still struggled to connect with anyone. Welcome to the 21st century, and happy 10th to the perfect cinematic encapsulation, of the digital times we live in.
