Jordan Peele’s sophomore feature as a writer and director is an unsettling and expertly crafted horror film that I absolutely loved from beginning to end. Comparing it to Get Out is not exactly fair as it is really a completely different beast and the films share little in terms of tone or themes. I will say for the sake of the review that I believe Get Out is paced slightly better and probably the better screenplay of the two BUT Us upped the ante in terms of cinematography and music and the scale of the horror is much larger in this movie as well. That last point isn’t necessarily better or worse but Us is definitely not as contained as Get Out as a story.
