here to make and watch movies
The debut of Nadav Lapid. I thought it was gas. Yiftech Klein was fantastic, brooding, dangerous, tender... he was doing a lot of stuff in one role. It worked. The entire ensemble was really strong. It was a fantastic buildup to the third act. The ending is haunting me as intended.
If you’re able to try to go see it in a theater. It is definitely a 3.5 hour movie. But ole Marty will take care of you. You’ll be fine.
I left the theater wanting to call my grandpa and see if he was doing okay. I’m not scared of being old. I’m scared of driving away my loved ones and being alone in my last days.
This contains nearly everything I love about movies and storytelling. The atmosphere, technique, tone, craft, all of it. It’s a great benchmark to aspire to. These are the kinda stories I’d like to tell, and i’m glad there are others out there doing it so very, very well.
