here to make and watch movies
I watched a 90 year old movie tonight. Those people who made it maybe never dreamed someone would be watching their movie 90 years from when they created it.
I hope the films i’m working on will be watched 90 years from now. They probably won’t be. Am I okay with that? I have to be.
I don't have enough good things to say about this.
Riz Ahmed is a beautiful man. It's clear on the external and reluctantly shown to us on the internal. This gets at some things that we don't get to see a lot on film. A co-dependent relationship between two people who overcome addiction together. The ideas of solitude, silence, reflection as a path to healing. The allure of your ambition trumping the offer of a simple, happy existence.
If you’re able to try to go see it in a theater. It is definitely a 3.5 hour movie. But ole Marty will take care of you. You’ll be fine.
I left the theater wanting to call my grandpa and see if he was doing okay. I’m not scared of being old. I’m scared of driving away my loved ones and being alone in my last days.
