Unexpected. That word has never been more appropriate than in regards to Parasite. I had avoided as much as I could in terms of marketing for this movie ever since I learned of its existence. The buzz started early, and having to wait for months for it to release in Norway was excruciating to say the least. All that's just to say that when I finally sat down in the theater this week, I truly had no idea what I was in for.
And what a pleasure that feeling was. This movie is just a wild ride from beginning to end, changing tone left and right without taking you out of it for a second. The best Bong Joon-ho film I've seen so far and what a truly exciting filmmaker he is.
I felt a bit perplexed by the ending, but having had a few days to let it sit it has become less of an issue for me.
