simply put, one of the most rewarding rewatch experiences I've had with a film. in the wake of priming myself through a 3 Mothers mini-marathon, everything that I was on the fence about in my initial blind viewing (understandably overwhelmed by unbridled stimulation) radiated gloriously through this time as art. this applies particularly for the visual aesthetic, especially after a trivia item in X-ray confirmed my hunch that its look was drawn more from fassbinder than argento. exhausting yet exhilarating.
