    Saw X

    ★★★★½

Saw X breaks the mold of the franchise and gives us a more dramatic and humanizing look into the world of John Kramer—the traps are as fun as ever, the gore is great, and you won’t see the twist coming.

  • The Creator

    The Creator

    ★★★★½

The Creator is easily one of the best and most original sci-fi films I’ve seen in recent years—the story is heartfelt and captivating, the cinematography is gorgeous, the score from Hans Zimmer is fantastic, and the performances are absolutely phenomenal.

    Watched in IMAX.

    Halloween Kills

    ★★★★★

Halloween Kills was everything I wanted it to be and more—it continues Michael’s night of terror from Halloween 2018 while adding new depth and shocking insight into the original 1978 Halloween. It is without a doubt the most violent and brutal film in the franchise to date—the kills are spectacularly gory. And as usual, the soundtrack is absolute perfection. I’m seriously so blown away right now, I could barely write a review. Holy shit.

    Side Note:
    Watching Halloween 2018 and…

    Black as Night

    ★★

The summer I got breasts, that was the same summer I fought vampires.” — I knew Black as Night would be trash as soon as that line came out less than 5 minutes in. Yikes.

    PROS:
    •Well-shot

    CONS:
    •Awful narration
    •Unlikeable characters
    •Some scenes too dark
    •Keith David was severely underutilized.

    Side Note

So after watching Bingo Hell, The Manor, and Black as Night, I think it’s safe to say that Amazon Prime/Blumhouse’s movies for October this year sucked—they’re cheaply made, bland, uneventful, and not worth your time.
