Three thematically linked stop motion shorts that show the difficulties in rising above your station. The animation is beautiful. The three pieces are able to standalone but are amplified by their being joined together. It shines through its darkness.

Unbelievable. PTA is so incredibly talented. Each new movie I see from him is so distinctly him while also being it's own thing entirely. He has such a skill for capturing emotions when they are at their most heightened state. Whether the emotions are good or bad, quiet or loud. He brings it all out in the midst of a brilliantly told story about filling the voids the come naturally with being human.

This movie has quickly become necessary Christmas viewing. It sets a mood and stays there. Playful, and humorous, but purposeful in its presentation of what's good and bad in the world. A great place to spend a holiday.

This movie is amazing. Period. Godzilla movies have developed a reputation for being campy due to the rubber suits and miniature wreckage, but to see it all come together so seamlessly, and sorrowfully makes me wonder why it's not thought of more as just a straight up marvel of filmmaking. The world had a lot to think about after the atomic bombs went off, on all sides of the conflict, and this monster movie presented all of it. It was angry, and sad, but also considerate of the opposition. Godzilla is a masterpiece.
