Danny’s review published on Letterboxd:
It’s trashy but harmless and enjoyable. Odd bits of cinematography here are actually pretty good which was surprising and Rachel McAdams brings a lot of charm to a film that is far from a highlight in her career. The songs range from entertaining to actually quite good and the film has a lot of heart despite having some cringeworthy moments, more than a fair share of unfunny bits and being overly long. I don’t really have any comment on Will Ferrell other than he kinda just ‘Will Ferrell’s it up’ for the whole time. It’s just a typical enjoyable comedy that you can switch your mind off and watch but it’s on a much larger scale than normal - it wasn’t a bad watch (although it is objectively pretty bad) but I don’t think I’d watch it again.
