Paris, Texas ★★★½

I found parts of the later first act and some of the second act to be meandering and I’d liked to have cared a little more for the lead before the ending. But, looking past this, the film has stunning cinematography and the lighting is virtually flawless, the performances are really good, the score works really well and, although there were times I wasn’t thoroughly into it, by the end I have to admit the story ends up being a nice one and it does have a big payoff that makes some of the slower pacing tolerable and even worthwhile. 7.5/10
