The Last Black Man in San Francisco ★★★★

I feel like I haven’t really watched an objectively great film for a little while and I’m glad to say that this film swiftly ended that streak. I think the exploration of identity and social class in this film is done really well and the pacing feels very deliberate and builds to a meaningful ending. On top of that the energy that it creates is palpable throughout, the cinematography and lighting is drop dead gorgeous, the acting is phenomenal, it’s scored excellently and has strong editing in the montage department especially. This just feels very unique and actually sits among some of the best movies of 2019 in my opinion! 8.5/10
