Dan Scully’s review published on Letterboxd:
Less handsome than CARRIE ‘76 by a mile, but in terms of character and story I think it’s the superior of the two adaptations. It fails at selling me on Carrie’s loser status at the outset, but more than makes up for it with the fleshing out of Sue Snell’s part. An epistolary is tough to adapt to film, I’m sure, and this has more to draw from than its predecessor (it takes as much from C’76 as it does the novel), which gives it an edge. Both great movies, but I’m surprised this doesn’t get more love!
The windshield gag?!? THE WINDSHIELD GAG!!
