Second viewing of this, to bring my wife into the fold, shows off the craft that made this such an exceptional experience on the first viewing. Alvarez's roaming camera really gives you a sense of space, while simultaneously the feeling of claustrophobia.
The movie does suffer on the second go round as all the thrills and surprises are lost making this feel like a pedestrian effort. It doesn't offer any new layers to unfold or depth to mine which the best films can do.
My wife loved it though.
