GLASS ONION is truly a fun film. It completely captures the feel of those late 70s Christie films that had the huge cast and exotic locals. It also carries over the sense of whimsy that those films possessed. If it is slighter than the first it is only because it lacks the freshness that the original brought.
In many ways it is a shame that films like this will suffer diminishing returns because they are pure entertainment. That is something needed right now especially, if not always.
Craig is as fun in this world as he is dour in the Bond films. The real standout here is Monae who really gets to shine and carries the weight of the film ably, just like de Armas did in the first.
I really enjoyed it.
