The Holy Mountain

The Holy Mountain ★★★★★

Carter’s Letterboxd Season Challenge 2018-2019
Week 21: February 10th-16th
Third Cinema Week

Medium-defining. This movie will change the way you look at cinema. It appreciates the meaning in the meaningless, the beauty in the grotesque. So many emotions were going through my head when watching this. Fear, joy, awe, disgust, anger. I can't even begin to describe it. It's like an epic made by an absolute maniac.

I also have to say this might be tied with 2001 for the most beautiful movie I've ever seen. Every shot is so memorable, energetic, vibrant, full of wonder and color. Even the weird, gross, and disturbing shots have beauty to them. The soundtrack is also fantastic. Absolute masterpiece.
