  Deck the Halls (2006) -this is what Candy Cane Lane should’ve been, but still set in El Segundo.

  7th film in my Christmas watch-athon

  The Nice Guys: 

  “you know who else was just following orders? Hitler” 

  I absolutely love the setting, and the dynamic between Gosling and Crowe is spectacular. A fat Crowe and a funny Gosling?! The two birds!! Excellent film. I don’t care about the end, the part with Basinger, but it’s fine. It’s like a mini throwback to L.A Confidential.

  I’m from El Segundo, lived there since around kindergarten. As you can read from his review, @The_Duker, my buddy Derek also grew up there and this is losely based on his dad. They do have a Candy Cane Lane every year, they do have a Santa who parades down the street and points to each house, I’ve been there to help turn on the lights!
