Darren Carver-Balsiger’s review published on Letterboxd:
Feeling like a memory, Lady Bird is the sort of film bound to make everyone consider their own teenage years and relationships. It's sincere and really quite humbling. It took a while for Lady Bird to really hit me but a few minutes after watching it I was emotionally broken. Yet its honesty is offset by just how enjoyable it is. Lady Bird is funny and it's also quirky but in a subdued way where every single quirk is part of a believable world. Saoirse Ronan is absolutely flawless in the lead role and the supporting cast all nail their roles as well. It's just a film where every single aspect perfectly coalesces to create great cinema. It's nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary, but Lady Bird is effortlessly effective.
