A lot less campy than the original and much more spine chilling, I really enjoyed this film and the scares were well placed and deserved without being cheesy. I'm a big fan of King's work and have always thought this was the creepiest so love this version, even with the change to the plot - it doesn't change the flow and actually accentuates the emotion.

Overall being the horror buff that I am, it's not as terrifying as I expected but was enough so to scare my friend and make a few audience members yelp so I had my fun. 👍

Paid more attention to this the second time around. Gaga did really deserve the Oscar for it. Still hate the hard jarring cut at the end.

I hoped for so much more, expecting a different spin on the tale but was left with a low budget and really badly acted movie. Cute overall but the story was weird and nothing worked, it didn't even end happy.. Leave these things to Disney Netflix.

Yeah kinda torn. Loved the premise and the lore but felt a lot of it was badly executed. The last act is dogshit too. They need to rewatch the conjuring to see how they make a good film.
