ya know, i understand that there's some legitimate historical value here, and that the world could benefit from having a candid portrait of the presidential trail for the modern era (especially when it comes to 2016). but it suffers from a similar problem to FRUITVALE – even though i didn't like Romney before i saw the film (as opposed to Oscar Grant, whom i knew little about beyond the circumstances of his death), i didn't need to be convinced that he was a human. more to the point, that's not ENOUGH. that's not a competent or satisfying thesis to for a feature film. there's no point to a doc like this if they're going to let the chronology of the campaign shape the narrative, and simply serve it up to you.
