David Sigura’s review published on Letterboxd:
When I went to see the first Knives Out, I went into it with the mindset that it was more of an award seasons movie. As such, I found myself nitpicking it and wasn’t able to enjoy it like I would’ve wanted to (part of which can be attributed to the murder mystery genre not being my usual cup of tea anyhow).
So I went into this without many expectations and got to cackle along with a funny friend of mine. And THIS scenario made Glass Onion a really great time. Benoit Blanc is a really engaging character, and it was a smart move to center the franchise around his various expeditions, Poirot-style. The ultra-modern feel and scenarios presented in the film may not age very well, but in terms of relevance to TODAY it was very fun and topical. And there were celebrity references and cameos a mile a minute, almost as if to reassure you not to take this seriously and to just have fun with it.
