    This is what happens to Frodo without Samwise Gamgee keeping him on the straight and narrow. The eye of Sauron sadly overtook him. 

    But seriously.. The first person pov camera work in this was really interesting. The viewer seeing the world through the maniac’s eyes. There were some truly gruesome and creepy scenes.

    I saw this movie had Lena Dunham and Jennifer Jason Leigh and I was like, “sweet!” this should be nice and twisted. Sharp Stick did not disappoint.

     I didn’t even realize it was written by Dunham until it was over. Though it made a lot sense when I saw her name in the credits. I was Girls fan and it definitely had similar vibes. Authentic raunchy characters are her wheelhouse.

    The Father made me view dementia differently. Is it that, as we approach death the veil between worlds begins to lift and we can’t keep our multiple timelines/lives straight anymore?

    That’s what I took from the characters swapping around. Maybe the guy that was a dick orderly in one life was the dick husband in another..?

    I am aware that people with dementia have issues with memory and time, but I hadn’t heard that they see people playing different roles.…

    Joe was a really great character. Traumatized, disassociated, violent, but still compassionate. Like Norman Bates got all beefcake and grew a wild man beard. I liked the 40’s/50’s soundtrack that was carried throughout. It helped offset the extremely violent things that happened in the movie and put the viewer in the mindset of Joe.
