I think the weak point in this film was the script.

It was well cast and well acted. I really liked Ben Affleck as the uncle. I always like Lily Rabe. 

The soundtrack was great. 

I think it was well directed. The scenes still managed to evoke emotion without much substance to be found, in what was being said. 

I think they did the most they could have possibly done with non-compelling repetitive dialogue.
