Inside Llewyn Davis ★★★★

There are some films that you can simply sit back and let wash over you. The Coen's Inside Llewyn Davis is certainly one of their more understated films, but it has an earthy simple beauty that shines through in the cinematography from Bruno Delbonnel. It's rich, sumptuous, and gives Oscar Isaac yet another chance to show his versatility with possibly his most rounded performance to date. Ably backed by Carey Mulligan , John Goodman, and Justin Timberbollocks, the Coens have managed to take us back to the folk-era early sixties with a wealth of authenticity. Not my favourite Coen Brothers film, but inching up that leaderboard on every watch.
