Derek Dillon’s review published on Letterboxd:
I heard pretty great things going into this movie and I'll tell you right now it's one of my favorites of 2015. I could tell how much love and care was put into making this film. This wasn't some haphazard reboot. This was a film, from the ground up, that knew it had to be something special to resonant with it's audience. And it succeeded. Michael B. Jordan was truly great in it and Sly Stone's performance is worthy of Oscar consideration. Even after the film I was still full of emotion. As my friend Micah said, it'll leave you feeling like your life is a lot richer.
