Derek Dillon’s review published on Letterboxd:
Wow. The technical level of precision needed to make this film is extremely impressive. And Emmanuel Lubezki easily created the most beautifully shot film of 2015 other than MACBETH. The story is simple and that is a good thing as it doesn't need to be complex in order for it to it's job. The acting is excellent with Tom Hardy once again transforming himself. Leo WILL be winning his first Oscar after this performance due to the sheer physicality of his role. Some will see this as not really "acting" but an actors main tool is his body and Leo understands that more than anybody. Also Domhnall Gleeson is once again excellent in a small but necessary and moral role. I'll be seeing this again on Large Format because that is what this film is meant to be seen on.
