Daniel Dryden’s review published on Letterboxd:
I don’t really have as many things to say about this one than I did the last two, other than the exact same praise.
The dialogue is superb, the performances feel so improvised and natural, the direction is minimalistic but always wonderful. It’s probably one of the most perfect trilogies I’ve ever seen.
Also, this one takes a turn that I somewhat expected, since the leads got older and maybe have different perspectives on relationships now, but man does this film hit some devastating emotional beats that are excellent. Super sad, but excellent.
After watching all these, I can safely say that I think I misjudged Richard Linklater, considering this trilogy is magnificent! Maybe I’ll have to give Dazed and Confused another try?
