“rifle, rifle rhymes with trifle”
This film is one of the best depictions of war I’ve seen, it really nailed the whole bleak atmosphere of the trenches and no man’s land.
Apart from the slow start this was paced pretty much perfectly, with everything important happening within a 2hr and 40min runtime.
As of now this is defo my favourite non English film (I’ve seen 2) with Shinjuku Incident just behind this.
The tank scene was probably one of the best in the film, it nailed the whole dread and horror of tanks in WW1 with everyone screaming and crying from everyone
Overall this is an amazing film and defo worth the watch
Watched on Netflix (in german)
