Alex’s review published on Letterboxd:
With universal themes done in a fresh, perceptive and thoughtful manner, Lady Bird is sure to have great re-watch value. Filled with poignancy, humour and terrific performances, this is one of the best films of the year and as good a coming-of-age film as I’ve seen. I hope to see all involved get their due praise through awards season, as although awards aren’t everything, these types of films about everyday people in everyday situations need to get the kind of attention usually reserved for the prestige and blockbuster films.
