I appreciate all the little changes and shifts in tone here compared to the other Fate/Stay Night shows, but I’ve seen the beginning of this damn Holy Grail War so many times now. My aforementioned familiarity makes certain points feel like a bore, especially considering its fairly long runtime.
UFOTable killed the animation per usual, and the attention to detail in even the minor fights and action scenes is glaringly apparent. I’m unsure of my feelings on Sakura as of right now, but I’m sure her role and impact on the story will become clear soon enough.
What a climactic and heartfelt ending to two of my favorite shows of the last 5 years, SSSS.Gridman & SSSS.Dynazenon. I love how much time was spent focusing on the interactions and developing relationships between the two casts upon meeting each other. It was a pleasant surprise seeing previously “sent off” characters like Gauma and Akane Shinjo return.
Akira Amemiya’s direction was a bit less focused here than in Dynazenon, likely because of the shift in focus from atmosphere and world…
