This series isn’t my favorite in the world, but I think I will always be grateful for it.

Bring It On 2000
This is so y2k that it’s borderline ANNOYING, but a movie has your heart when you remember so many lines/bits from it.
-
Jennifer's Body 2009
My mom taking me to see this at 12, with a friend in theaters, was the best gift she could give me.

Spring Breakers 2012
For me, watching this back in the day represented a surface level approach to the “lengths” people would go to achieve their own kind of solace and what resulted was a fun, neon-soaked party with guns and a structure that almost entirely felt out of place. Already being familiar with his work, it was an interesting direction to see Korine go a route that seemed more conventional in his own way.
Now, there’s somewhat more depth to understand the critique…

The Florida Project 2017
Sadness masked through the vibrant colors and (mostly) cuteness. You can’t NOT appreciate the usage of colors in this...wouldn’t be an easy watch with bleak and dry ones.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw 2019
Went from Irma Vep to this poorly written clump of waste.... wasn’t my choice I promise. Literally fell asleep last half hour.

Irma Vep 1996
Me watching Americans in movies doing basic things: this is so mundane and redundant ...
Me watching the French in movies doing basic things: this is poetic...the way they converse with each other at the dinner table stuffing their mouths and getting drunk just echoes the beautiful reality of everyday Western life; the emotions are so palpable I could bathe in it.
