I wouldn't mind if Scarlett Johansson would be my daddy.

My relationship with Taika Waititi isn't the easiest one. I appreciate him as a person and especially as a director. But his movies so far weren't never my cup of tea.
So I wasn't really expecting anything from Jojo Rabbit. The trailers were fine, but at the end it's another weird comedy from Waititi .. so nothing I would like that much.

Now I'm sitting here and can finally say I found a film from him I really like. For once I love Scarlett, so obviously that's a huge plus point. But even besides that, I really enjoyed this.
The humor works, the characters works, the world works and the script is marvellous.
And at the same time, the film also manages to get the heartbreaking scenes really well.

It isn't anything new that Waititi has a lot of talent. That he is a fantastic director. Even to me that wasn't new. I guess I just needed to see Waititi as Hitler to see his full potential.

I didn't expect to like it that much, go fucking see it .. totally recommended.
