So not to sound pretentious or anything, but is Pulse one of the most relevant horror movies for the world we currently live in? I mean, it kind of perfectly mirrors how social media and the internet in general promised to bring us all together and form some digital utopia, but instead has lead to isolation and loneliness. It's been a massive force in spreading misery, death, depression and suicide. These are all themes that I think Pulse perfectly touches upon, and even though it's almost 20 years old, it becomes more and more timely with each passing year.
