Manhunter ★★★★★

Mann’s hyper stylized interpretation of the first Hannibal Lector novel is a synth scored, jarringly edited and neon drenched exercise in atmosphere and suspense. Filled with so many modern sensibilities but undeniably a relic of the 80s. So beautifully shot, as all Mann films are, with gorgeous uses of color, the blues and greens, the total darkness of its deafening finale. Deeply terrifying but undeniably beautiful. That use of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is unforgettable.
