Yeey, another found-footage movie! I'm a sucker for those.
This time we got a live stream event gone awry when a group of young thrill seekers head into an old abandoned asylum notorious for it's ghostly activity.
We all know how this goes basically....so there's not really much I can spoil.

But the big question is: Did it work?
Sure, some of the scares were legitimately pee-inducing.
What I did not like was the pacing. It took a bit too…

Well sure...I get it. When I would've been 10 years old, I probably would've enjoyed it very much. But I'm older now...and I can't look past the horendous Disney CGI, it really bothers me it does...
Storywise it's not the most original, pretty straight forward. Some adventurers head into the jungle looking for a MacGuffin. Bad guy shows up, woops, danger, excitement, rince, repeat.
A pretty lady, a strong fella, an old dirty grump, a quirky character and a villain.

The Rock's dad jokes cracked me up...sue me, I'm at a certain age.

It's just so simple, assemble a crew, get a briefcase, tentions run high, can't trust this one, can't trust that one, bang, bang, car chase, boom!

You gotta love it, I did, and I still do after all this time.
Brilliant cast, I mean, you got Reno, De Niro, Jonathan Pryce, Natascha McElhone, Sean Bean and Stellan Skarsgard...what more do you want?

It's straight to the point here. No fancy special effects or color corrections, just good choreography and stuntwork.
I've said it back then, and I'll say it again, "Ronin" has the best car chases, period.

A great improvement from the previous installments, and I had many chuckles, especially during it's opening scene which I personally thought was...the best part of the entire movie.
But hold your horses, I'm not shitting on this movie. For what it was, it was enjoyable and definitely one of the greatest DCCU movies to date, but I also need to be brutaly honest here. Was it all that great? To me, it seems this is a clear case over over-hyping…
