Cute! Jimmy Stewart's innocence here is so perfect.
But also if this came out today I don't think that innocent tone plays as well for many reasons (including not thinking an actor could pull off what Stewart and Jean Arthur did here), so my pitch would be an absurdist comedy-parody and spin-off movie to Parks and Rec where Ron Swanson, leader of the Pawnee Rangers, is plucked from his home into the United States senate. It follows him until his firing one week later when the senators realize he's been voting down every bill for his own amusement.
Let's talk about that opening sequence.
