wished this was longer because the connection these two had was so good and could’ve been explored more

All Quiet on the Western Front 2022
while visually impressive, didn't feel connected at all. for an anti-war movie, it comes off as a more intense 1917 rather than horrifying (a la come and see). haven't read the book but the decision to include negotiations on ending the war added nothing

Minari 2020
minari is the warm hug we all need right now. it’s heartfelt with plenty of charm and humor. david and his grandmother in particular are a pleasure to watch, especially as their relationship grows. this is a beautiful film that makes me glad to see more asian american stories being told on the big screen
