"In Case I Don't See Ya, Good Afternoon,
Good Evening And Goodnight."
Emoji tags stand for who I watched the film with.
The fact that absolutely no one is freaking out about a man being pregnant and are instead congratulating him is exactly why this movie is great. It never takes itself seriously and instead is 91 minutes of pure joy. Jacques Demy you are so wonderful.
We watched this over the course of a week and maybe that is honestly the best way to watch this.
When 15 minutes into the movie I start to play a game of how long can I stare at the screen before I need to blink, something is wrong. None of the characters were relatable and the relationship felt forced. All around the movie was pretty half baked even with the important message of being allowed to love whoever you want.
What could have been an interesting plot was destroyed by focusing on the wrong character in the film but thank you Saorise for continuing to be the cutest human on the planet and making this movie bearable.
