Dan Holford’s review published on Letterboxd:
“I’m in love, I’m really in love.”
A hard one to review for me, I can’t quite put my finger on why I never truly connected with in the movie, but it wasn’t for me. There was stuff I liked, the music is brilliant and adds a sort of haunting feel to the movie, and it looks great, it’s certainly shot nicely. I like the overall idea, and the themes of loneliness, but the movie never grabbed me.
I just couldn’t get into the story or the characters. I think it was the slow paced nature of the movie, and maybe I never truly understood all the true meanings and intricacies of what the movie was trying to convey. It was sometimes a tough watch, the slowness of the loneliness and often pain the characters are going through really pushes to the forefront.
I guess sometimes a movie just doesn’t work for me, and this is one of those movies.
