John DiLillo’s review published on Letterboxd:
“We didn’t have a prom, or a graduation. There are so many memories we didn’t have.”
All of the hullabaloo about M. Night’s stagey dialogue and B-movie sense of humor has completely missed the point: This is the first movie I’ve seen that’s managed to successfully evoke the feelings of the last eighteen months without ever becoming didactic or literal about it. Life is passing you by; you don’t understand it, you can’t catch up. All you have is the people around you. They’ll carry you through. Intensely moving in all its big broad strokes.
