Watched in honour of HAL's birthday.
Time started: 22.00
State of mind:Tired. Just finished a two hour session of grading papers.
So. I'm not allowed to write a review. So I'm going to go all pompously pretentious and write a poem of this particular viewing. Yes, I know it doesn't rhyme.
Loneliness
The womb is where we start
Discordant darkness
Omniscient ominous birth
Light
Man
Life
Life
Man
War
And the dark shape gazes. Alone.
Up is where we go
The heavens where we dance
Mundanity remains
As we dance on
And on
A conception in red
A mystery in black
Pity
Petty
Apes
Trivial
Trite
Touch
A sonar sonata?
A siren's song?
And the dark shape gazes. Alone.
The limits are what we seek
Further, further still
Spherical life
Spherical red
Simulated humanity = human error?
Discordant
Darkness
Death
ID
Ego
Super Ego
The one eyed soul
Reaps what we sow
And the spaceman gazes. Alone.
The womb is where we end
Discordant light
Elliptic (re)birth at soul's edge
Human(e) simulation?
Time
Stretched
Thin
End
Equals
Beginning
Born to the universe
New Man gazes.
Alone.
