Part of Dastardly Difficult December: film nr.82
This is one of those films that if you're willing to go along with its silly premise, there is a decent amount of fun to be had.
Making the two heroes sentient zombies provides from some rather funny bits in the beginning. The first act is definitely the strongest, with some great gore and a nice meta awareness in the comedy. I was on board so far.
Where it lost me was in the rather stupid plot. The further it got on the less interested I became. Sure, there were still some hilarious scenes, but its shift in tones became a bit too erratic. The final act is a bit of a bore as it takes far too much time to tie up all the loose ends.
There is potential in this film and it's a shame that the fun all involved clearly had making it doesn't really rub off on the audience.
