    Your Name

Here's my pitch to fix the American remake of Your Name that everyone will love:

A city boy born and raised in South Detroit that takes the midnight train going anywhere swaps body with a small town girl living in a lonely world that also takes the midnight train going anywhere because the midnight train going anywhere is what's causing them to switch bodies.

Bonus points if Journey plays at the end.

I just saved the American remake of Your Named from being hated since my pitch is not something anyone could possibly hate no matter how awful the film would turn out.

Not only is this handily the best sci-fi film of the decade, this might be the smartest and most thought provoking sci-fi film I've seen aside from 2001: A Space Odyssey. It's very rare to see a sci-fi that's actually far more concerned with the science behind space and space travel and pondering thoughts about that than it is the spectacle of it all. It also ponders a lot of thoughts about the concepts of sexuality, the human experience, what…

Decided to rewatch this along with the entire MCU in preparation of Avengers: Endgame excluding the Ant-Man films, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Homecoming (I plan on watching that later for a video).

If it wasn't for the stunning visual effects and presentation, then I don't think this film would be all that good.

I also really liked Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange and I hope we get sequel that expands upon his powers in the same way Infinity…

    Under the Silver Lake

Before I give my actual thoughts on the film, I would like to say a couple of things:

    1. I consider this a 2019 film instead of a 2018 film in spite of being theatrically released in a few countries in 2018 since it's considered an American film and it never got an American release until 2019. And I always consider what ever year the film was released in it's native country to be it's true release year regardless of…

So I was originally not gonna see this film because of how much it looked like a film that was farted out into existence. But I had enough points saved up on an account I have for Regal Theaters to get a free ticket. So I decided to use that free ticket to go see this film because of how hilariously awful I’ve heard this was and OH BOI did the film not disappoint me in that regard.

    Nothing about…

    The Thing

While I still think The Shining is a better and much more meticulous film both narratively and in how it’s presented overall, The Thing is far and away one of the best horror films ever made.

It easily has the best display of make up and practical effects I’ve ever seen put in screen and the way they’re utilized in the film is so fucking effective and unsettling. How the film didn’t get an Oscar for either one of those…
