One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest ★★★★★

Wow, just wow. There are so many awe-inspiring performances in this film. Jack Nicholson obviously, completely deserving of his Oscar win for this film, he is utterly sensational. His character Randal is certainly one you find yourself rooting for, especially as you take his journey through his time in the hospital. Louise Fletcher is marvelous as Nurse Ratched, and is just the opposite, where you spend all of your time rooting for McMurphy you spend that same time absolutely despising her, and that perfectly showcases Fletcher’s skill as an actress. Christopher Lloyd, Danny DeVito, Brad Dourif, and Will Sampson as supporting cast members were some of the best in cinema history, in my opinion, they reflect and foil McMurphy so well they make the ideal ensemble to help him navigate the story. The ending is absolutely heart wrenching and soul crushing and that’s all I have to say about that. The performances in this film, are definitely what make it so utterly sensational and completely deserving of its Best Picture title.
